New Polling Station For Lyme
12:05am 28th December 2014
Some residents in Lyme Regis will be casting their votes in a new polling station next year.
The change comes after concerns were raised about parking and access at St Michaels Business Centre in Church Street following the European Parliamentary Election last May.
West Dorset District Council has decided to use the Communal Room at Halletts Court in Queens Walk for next year's parliamentary and local elections.
The coucil said The Communal Room is spacious, has disabled access and is more centrally located within the main residential area in the eastern side of the town.
Below are some useful deadlines for residents who wish to vote at the combined parliamentary and local government elections on Thursday 7 May:
- Registering to vote - Monday 20 April
- Requesting a new postal vote or making changes to an existing postal or proxy vote - 5pm on Tuesday 21 April
- Requesting a new proxy vote - 5pm on Tuesday 28 April
