Broadchurch Actress Gets CBE

An actress set to appear in Broadchurch has received a CBE in the New Years honours list.
Meera Syal, best known for her role in The Kumars, and whose role's yet to be announced in the forthcoming drama, has received a CBE for services to Drama and Literature.
Amongst awards for countywide service are MBE's for Margaret Hannibal, director of operations at MOSAIC, which helps bereaved children and families in Dorset, also Colin Weston, a magistrate and former Dorset police authority member.
There's a British Empire Medal for Isabel de Pelet, who founded the Guggleton Farm Arts project, for services to artists in Dorset
North Dorset's done well with Sara Jacson's MBE for services to young people in the district and Jenifffer Kretz of North Dorset Home Start.
There's also an MBE for Captain Hugh Fogarty, a volunteer and Chair of the RNLI Staff Association in the county, for services to flood rescue and marine safety.
And a Dorset based doctor credited with discovering viagra is to receive a knighthood. Simon Campbell from Poole earns the accolade for services to chemistry
