Weldmar's Remembrance Service
8:57am 2nd January 2015
Support is being offered to those of us going through the heart-breaking pain of losing somebody we loved at Weldmar Hospicecare Trust's annual Services of Remembrance.
The Trust is holding their Snowdrop gardens and walks across the country in February where we can remember those we've lost privately or with others.
Chaplain at the Trust, Sally Bedborough explains how the services help people.
She told Wessex FM: "They've drawn a lot of comfort from it because you can feel very lonely and feel that you're the only one going through the difficult time you're going through."
"I think knowing that other people are going the same sort of journey can bring a lot of strength and comfort to people."
The services are held in late winter when snowdrops first appear to remind us that the hope and warmth of spring are not far away.
They'll be held at:
Beaminster St Mary's Church on Thursday 12th February at 11am
Bridport Bridport United Church on Thursday 5th February at 11.30am
Dorchester The Borough Gardens on Sunday 1st February at 3pm
Lyme Regis St Michael the Archangel on Tuesday 10th February at 11am
Sturminster Newton The Railway Gardens on Monday 2nd February at 11.30am
Weymouth Holy Trinity Church on Friday 13th February at 2pm
Snowdrops may be planted in memory of your loved one, and their name included in the Snowdrop Memorial book which is kept in each location.
The Trust asks for a donation of £10 to cover costs and this donation would be acknowledged by a commemorative card.
