A Dorset legal firm has added an experienced lawyer to its family practice team.
Georgina Bacon is bringing her eight years of experience to Battens Solicitors and will be specialising in domestic abuse cases.
She will be helping local clients by providing support and legal advice to families in Weymouth, Portland and Dorchester.
Georgina, who is a solicitor and an accredited member of the family lawyers' organisation Resolution, said: "Battens already has a well-established, professional and sizeable family team.
"I was keen to join the firm as it has an excellent reputation but also to be able to do more to help those clients who are most in need of help from our family team.
"They include those clients affected by domestic violence who approach us at crisis point or at their lowest ebb when they think no-one is able to help.
"We take a non-confrontational approach to achieve as quick and effective a resolution as possible."
Georgina, who lives on Portland, has close links to the community and has been strongly involved in the newly established Kids in the Middle charity to help children affected by family separation.
Cherise Luke-Bennett, joint head of Battens' family team, said: "We are very pleased to welcome Georgina to our team.
"As an experienced, knowledgeable and dedicated lawyer, she is a very valuable addition to our growing family practice."
Battens' family team provides practical legal advice and representation on all aspects of family law including divorce, cohabitation, children's matters, finance and protection against domestic violence.
