Dame Judy Dench Supports An Appeal To Create A Wildlife Friendly Farm In Dorset
12:33pm 7th January 2015
A farm honouring the memory of one of the best wildlife and countryside artists of his generation could be coming to Dorset.
Gordon Beningfield helped set up the Countryside Restoration Trust before passing away in 1998 and now the organisation is looking to raise enough money to establish a wildlife friendly farm in the county.
Dorset's countryside was an inspiration for the artist who believed the CRT should run a farm in the country to show how farming and wildlife can co-exist.
The Gordon Beningfield Dorset Farm Appeal needs to raise at least £1million in 2 years to be successful.
Appeal Patron, Dame Judi Dench told Wessex FM; "As a lover of water-colour painting and the countryside I was delighted when I discovered the work of Gordon Beningfield."
"I am so pleased that the CRT is honouring his art and his life by wanting to acquire or create a wildlife friendly farm in Dorset. I am privileged to support this exciting appeal."
