Purbeck School Shows Improvement

The Purbeck School's improved from 'Satisfactory to 'Good', the second best category, following an OFSTED inspection last month.
The report says there's been a rapid improvement in the quality of teaching and exam results since the previous check in 2011, while the sixth form, pupil behaviour and school management are also better.
The report does point out they need to do more for disabled students and those with special educational needs before they can be classed as 'outstanding'.
Headteacher Leanne Symonds says the inspectors saw strengths in all lessons; reporting that teaching is "consistently good"; that it has "improved rapidly" and continues to do so.
Since September 2014 Ofsted inspectors also evaluate the sixth form as part of an inspection.
