Dorset Fire And Rescue In Wareham Needs You

Maria and Fireman

9:17am 27th January 2015

Crews from Dorset Fire and Rescue Service are holding a major recruitment drive in Wareham today.

The aim is to attract more on call firefighters.

Potential recruits need to be able to respond within five minutes of a call, from work or home, be over 18, able to pass practical and physical tests and want to serve their local community and be part of a team.

Steve Cheeseman, Recruitment and Engagement Officer said: "There will be the opportunity to talk to HR staff about the recruitment process, as well as have a go at some of the physical and practical tests involved. On-call firefighters will also be on hand to discuss the sorts of incidents they attend and what being a firefighter is really like."

The Open Day takes place at Wareham Fire Station from 12pm-8pm.
