Dorset Police On Track To Meet Savings Target

Debbie Simpson and Martyn Underhill

9:31am 27th January 2015

Dorset Police is on track to make the savings it needs this year according to the Police and Crime Commissioner.

Martyn Underhill is urging us to have our say on his plans to freeze the policing precept as he sets the budget for the force.

2,500 residents have had their say so far.

Mr Underhill told Wessex FM: "I have sought to balance the needs of our police service with the demands on families across Dorset."

"I am proposing to freeze the precept for the next financial year, however it is important that I collect people's views in a public consultation which I will then feed back to the Police and Crime panel so I can make a considered decision."

The online survey can be accessed here:

Once the deadline passes, results will be published on the Dorset PCC website at www.dorset.pcc.police.uk
