A woman from Portland has launched a scheme to help new mums who're suffering with Post Natal Depression.
Katie Goff has first-hand experience with the illness after falling into the depressed state following the birth of her 4th child.
Symptoms of Post Natal Depression are
Have no appetite or over-eat for comfort
Can't cope with your new life with your baby
Are afraid to be alone with your baby
Think life just isn't worth living
Mum Katie says her health visitors told her at the time they couldn't help. Click the player below to hear more.
Now Katie has launched a scheme called where she creates "Butterfly Boxes" to help women cope after giving birth.
Each box contains things like motivational books, reflective diaries and vouchers to relaxation classes.
She's now got her local GP surgery on Portland to support her scheme and the first boxes will be handed out on Portland by health workers in September.
Katie is now fundraising to keep her project going and is looking for sponsors and donations to help her cause. She's hosting a Ladies Night fundraiser on 4th August at 7pm at Westhaven House in Weymouth. You can find out more about her scheme and how to get involved by logging onto
