The competition is heating up on Weymouth and Portland with more Olympic teams arriving to practice on the water.

The Olympic and Paralympic sailing events get underway from the National Sailing Academy on July 29th 2012.

Members of Team GB haven't been training alone though; athletes from the USA, Canada and Australia have all been practising on the waters over the past few months.

Amanda Clarke is Skipper of Team USA's Women's 470, that's a boat consisting of 2 people manoeuvring a dinghy at high speeds.

She says Team GB have a great team this year, but she's well prepared to face them on the water. Click below to hear more.

For Team USA Windsurfer Farrah Hall, it's all about confidence when she takes to the water, and she's been speaking to Wessex FM. Click the player below to hear more from Farrah.

Athletes all over the world have their own particular way of getting ready before a competition, and Wessex FM's Luke de Costa has been finding out how Amanda and Farrah get in the zone pre-race. Click below to listen.
