Dorchester Postmen Call for Safety After Pet Dog Attacks

Posting Peg in Use

10:14am 18th July 2012
(Updated 11:52am 18th July 2012)

Postmen in Dorchester are asking residents to keep their pets under control this summer.

The call comes after 23 postmen were attacked by animals whilst on their rounds last year.

Anything from a nip on the hand to a full-on attack was reported by Royal Mail workers.

Royal Mail Safety Director Senol Ali covers the South Dorset area, he says one postman was so viciously attacked by a dog she needed surgery. Click the player below to listen to Senol.
