South West Trains To Run During Weymouth And Portland Olympics
9:45am 21st July 2012
Train services will be running as planned during the Olympics in Weymouth and Portland.
South West Trains have welcomed the news that RMT members have voted AGAINST a strike.
"It will be busy - but trains will be running" - that's the latest from South West who say a full Olympic service will be provided for spectators throughout the Games.
Managing Director Tim Shoveller says most employees voted against a walkout.
What he considers a 'generous' pay deal was agreed some months ago which covered the London 2012 Olympics.
Tim Shoveller says it's disappointing that the RMT has been trying to go back on that deal.
