Blaze Destroys Large Field in Dorchester

A large field of crops has been destroyed after a fire in Dorchester.

Dorset Fire and Rescue were alerted to the blaze in Old Poundbury just before 6pm yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 24th July 2012).

It took firefighters 30 minutes to bring it under control and 2 hectres were ruined.

The fire was caused by an engine spark from an old combine harvester on the land.
