Some of the country's top businessmen are in Weymouth and Portland this week.
Weymouth College is hosting the largest business networking evening outside London to coincide with the sailing events.
Nick Baird, CEO of UK Trade and Investment, Regional Director Russell Jones, and Sir John Armitt, President of the British Business Club will all be present.
Hundreds of business people from across the South West will gather at the British Business Pavilion at Weymouth College from 6 to 10 August - an event designed to showcase the South West, help regional businesses to capitalise on the great networking opportunities emanating from the London 2012 Games and learn about potential export opportunities with future major sporting events.
The event is organised by UK Trade and Investment South West, in partnership with Dorset Chamber of Commerce, Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership and Weymouth and Portland Borough Council. The programme reflects the British Business Embassy events at Lancaster House in London and each day will focus on a different market sector*, where delegates will have the opportunity to attend workshops and gain insight into the level of expertise held within the region.
The British Business Pavilion will also mark the launch of the British Business Club - an online network, created by UK Trade & Investment and other partner organisations - which enables companies to connect with business partners across the world and showcase their expertise online. The club offers the opportunity to arrange one-to-one meetings, find the important business events across the UK and promote their business capability and skills.
