8:29am 14th August 2012
(Updated 8:32am 14th August 2012)

Over half a million pounds will be spent on providing training, voluntary work and employment for people in Weymouth with mental health or addiction issues.

Weymouth Community Volunteers have won £253,331 of lottery funding for their Re-Start programme which will also help ex-offenders.

The volunteers will work closely with other agencies to identify those most at need.

Structured activities tailored to the individual will help them avoid relapse or re-offending.
