Bring Us Your Flooding Photos
8:18am 15th August 2012
Victims of the recent floods in Dorset are being asked to bring their photos and stories along to a special drop in session in Maiden Newton today.
It's being put on by the Environment Agency and Dorset County Council at the Youth and Community Centre in Chilfrome Lane from 1.30 to 6pm.
A second event will be held on Tuesday 21st August in Dorchester at the Corn Exchange from 1.30 to 6pm.
The events are an opportunity for residents and local businesses that have either been affected by the flooding or have on-going concerns about flooding, to share their views and experiences with officers from the relevant authority.
It will also give the County Council and Environment Agency the opportunity to gather information about the flooding incident. People who attend the open sessions are invited to bring along any photographs, video clips or notes taken during the event.
This is a chance for residents not only from the surgery locations but also from the surrounding areas to talk to officers. The information will also help us to build a picture of events and what could possibly be done to be better prepared in future.
A further session will be arranged in Weymouth, the date for this is to be confirmed.
