Witness Appeal After Alleged Assault In Dorchester

Officers in Dorchester are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a man was allegedly assaulted in the town – with two men being arrested.

The incident happened at around 3.40am on Sunday 5 August 2012 outside Antelope Walk in South Street, following an initial disturbance outside Café Jagos on High West Street.

A 30-year-old man from Dorchester suffered minor facial injuries.

Police Constable Simon Lancey, of Dorchester police, said: “Following further enquiries, we now know a number of people were in the area at the time of this alleged attack, and they may have some information that can assist us with our investigation.

“We are particularly keen to hear from anybody who may have witnessed any violent behaviour or abusive language that may have lead to this altercation.

“Anyone with information is urged to contact Dorset police in confidence on the non-emergency number 101.”

Two men from Dorchester, aged 20 and 19, have been arrested and released on police bail while enquiries continue.
