Engineers will start work today (22nd August) on the collapsed Beaminster Tunnel.
The road's been blocked since the 7th of July when a landslide buried a couple in their car- killing both of them.
It's been closed since then because of the danger of further landslides.
Director for Environment at Dorset County Council, Miles Butler told Wessex FM they'll begin by making boreholes in the hillside to see what state it's in.
Local people have suggested a range of options which include demolishing the tunnel and building a new road or hillside.
It's thought that could take several years for an agreement to be reached and that access needs to be sorted sooner than that.
