Can You Help Save Wimborne Folk Festival

Volunteers are needed if a popular Dorset folk festival is to carry on.

After 20 year's East Dorset District Council will no longer be running Wimborne Folk Festival due to cuts in their funding from central government.

They say they've contributed £300,000 to the event over its lifetime, and this year alone gave £14,000.

The council says it will maintain its 2012 funding for the event into 2013 and will work with interested parties who come forward with a viable bid.

Anyone interested in meeting the Council to discuss the future of  the Folk Festival in Wimborne should contact Matti Raudsepp, Head of Leisure and Open Spaces on 01202 886201 or via email: mraudsepp@christchurchandeastdorset.gov.uk.
