Dorchester Man's Charity Walk For Late Father
8:25am 24th August 2012
A man from Dorchester's preparing to commemorate his father's life with a 4-day charity walk.
Simon Christophers sets off on a 90 mile trek today along our Heritage Coast and hopes to raise £1,000 for cancer charity Macmillan.
"Everyone knows someone who has been touched by cancer, be it themselves, a friend or a relative. My family has recently been affected by cancer, so I began to think about what I could do to raise money for Macmillan, a brilliant charity that supports people with cancer as well as their families.
I have lots of happy family memories of walks along the Dorset coast, which has inspired me to do this walk. I plan to walk border to border, ninety miles along the Dorset coastline. I will be camping along the way, and I hope to complete my journey in 3-4 days."
"Anyone who wishes to join me is more than welcome."
