80 athletes will be taking to the waters of Weymouth and Portland on Saturday for the start of the sailing events for the Paralympics.
And to celebrate Weymouth's sand sculptor Mark Anderson has created a special work at his newly built arena on the beach.
He's made the Paralympic logo, the Agitos.
Meanwhile, A free celebration event to mark the beginning of the London 2012 Paralympic Games will take place inside the ICCI 360 arena tonight from 7.30pm. The event will include a selection of 360 ‘In Motion’ films, a live performance from the samba band ‘Street Heat’ and the premiere of Sue Austin’s underwater wheelchair performance, ‘Creating the Spectacle’.
The official opening ceremony, live from London, will be screened in the Ocean Room at Weymouth Pavilion.
Free tickets for both are available from the Tourist Information Centre located inside Weymouth Pavilion.
