£30,000 In Community Cash Up For Grabs
9:01am 31st August 2012
£30,000 is being given away to help new project ideas in health or social care across Dorset.
Individuals or groups can apply for the 'community cash' from Dorset LINks.
LINks Regional Manager for the South West, Martyn Webster, said: “Community Cash is our way of getting as many individuals or groups across the Dorset community engaged. Sometimes, people have great ideas, but lack the necessary funding to make their projects a reality. Now, they can get up to £1000 per project, with the support of LINks behind them. We have had some incredible input from people of all ages, who have clearly been keen to get involved in their communities, and some really tangible outcomes from projects worked on.”
Annabelle Davis said: “Dorset LINKs provided me with a platform on which to deliver the workshop that I had designed myself. It was a completely interactive workshop with a variety of activities, based around the reality of living with a mental illness every day, feelings of hopelessness, and dealing with labels and judgements. Thank you LINks, I couldn’t have done it without you!”
