Your Comments on New Levy Could Improve Roads and Cycleways on Purbeck
11:04am 3rd September 2012
Safer walking and cycling schemes in Purbeck are among the initiatives being offered in a new infrastructure levy.
Purbeck District Council is publishing its proposed charging schedule for the Preliminary Draft Community Infrastructure Levy on Tuesday 4th September.
They are asking for comments on the levy, which wants to fund new road schemes, public transport and a community hall.
Councillor Gary Suttle, Leader of Purbeck District Council, said: "We welcome comments on the tariffs proposed in the charging schedule. Development isn't just about building houses, it's about places where communities can thrive and prosper. Therefore, we want to ensure that development is managed and is supported by the infrastructure to make it sustainable. The Community Infrastructure Levy will provide a vital source of funding to make this happen."
The consultation runs from 4th September to the 16th October and comments are invited on tariffs proposed.
Copies of the consultation document will be available here online from 4th September. Alternatively, paper copies will be viewable at local Purbeck libraries, town council offices or the District Council Office at Westport House, Wareham from 8.45am to 4.15pm Monday to Friday.
