Fraudsters Targeting Mobile Phone Users in South Dorset

7:26am 5th September 2012

We're being to warned about a new mobile phone scam in South Dorset.

Dorset Police says they've received a number of reports from local people who've been tricked by people posing as "company engineers".

They call your mobile and ask you to press a 2 digit combination which allows them to access your Sim-Card and make calls at your expense.

Officers say if you think you receive such a call you should hang-up the phone immediately.

We're also reminded to be cautious in relation to scam emails and don not reply if you feel they're asking for money or a request that is too good to be true.
