LISTEN: Medal Success for Team GB as Paralympics Come to a Close on Portland

Six days of world class Paralympic sailing on the waters of Portland and 2 medals for Team GB.
Portland's Helena Lucas claimed gold in the single person 2.4 mR class and the team of Alex Rickham and Niki Birrell were awarded a bronze in the Skud 18.
It wasn't quite the grand finale the sailors had imagined with the final day of sailing (Thursday 6th September 2012) abandoned due to low winds over the Portland racecourse.
It meant four times world champions Alex and Niki (Skud 18 Class) were unable to challenge for a top 2 finish and improve on their bronze.
But there was major disappointment and frustration for the Sonar crew of John Robertson, Stephen Thomas and Hannah Stodel who were penalised and fell out of medal contention earlier in the week for wiping down their boat. Officials scratched 4 points from their race total and they slipped to 5th place and with no sailing on the final day, leave empty handed.
Wessex FM's Luke de Costa met with our Team GB Paralympic sailors just before the medal ceremony on Portland, you can hear his interviews with Helena, Alex and Niki below ... And find out who was whistling the national anthem to keep their spirits up, their thoughts on TV coverage and who's already looking ahead to the next Paralympics in Rio 2016.
