10:00am 12th September 2012

Local Businesses are being invited to a special seminar to learn more about the future growth of the Dorset economy next month.

It's just been announced that the first Open For Business Dorset Conference will be held on the 18th October at the Riviera Hotel in Weymouth.

Key note speakers will include West Dorset and Weymouth and Portland Borough Council's Regeneration Manager, Ian Doyle.

The presentation will include key lessons learnt from hosting the Olympic sailing games during the summer and how the local authority can assist and enable local businesses to build on these lessons for future growth.  New Jobs and Weymouth town centre regeneration plans will also be discussed.

Julie Cleaver, Managing Director of Open 4 Business Dorset said "We are very excited to host the first Open 4 Business Conference, the conference topics are essential to the sustainability and vibrancy of the local business economy.   Dorset businesses have learnt valuable lessons during 2012 and many of these have produced cost savings and the introduction of a brand new group of customers to their businesses.   The Exhibition will open to visitors between the hours of 10am and 5pm.  Visitors will be able to spend time viewing the exhibition, networking with business associates and attend the conference sessions.  The Conference is FREE to attend and exhibition stands can be booked.  Spaces are limited so I would advise to book as soon as possible".

The Open 4 Business Awards are now open.   Tips for completing award entry forms with a step by step film guide can be found on the website.  Award entries must be in by Monday 24 September 2012.  Awards are open to every Dorset Business and each business can choose up to 2 categories to enter.

Three of the awards are open to a public vote .
