Car Bursts Into Flames After Fail To Stop Accident

More details have emerged about a fail to stop accident near Dorchester which saw a stationary car burst into flames.

Dorset Police say the Peugeot 307 was parked at Long Ash Service Station in Frampton when it was hit by an unknown vehicle on Monday night at around 10.15pm.

The driver failed to leave any details at the crash scene.

Sergeant Joseph Pardey, of Weymouth Traffic police, said: "I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this collision, and anyone who may have details about the other vehicle involved to contact me urgently.

"I would also urge the driver in question to do the right thing and speak with the police.

"All calls will be treated in the strictest of confidence."

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 10:501. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
