First Properties Announced For Weymouth And Portland Monopoly Board

Sandworld Y2

9:32am 28th September 2012

The first set on Weymouth and Portland's very own Monopoly board has been revealed!

Bowleaze Cove, Sandworld and Chesil Beach are the 3 popular landmarks to make up the Yellow set - and they're the 3rd most expensive.

Games makers say the other properties are going to be kept under wraps until the launch at the end of October (26th).

And who knows Wessex FM may even feature.

“We are keeping the vast majority of the newWeymouthandPortlandproperty owners under our MONOPOLY hats until we launch,” says Dan Taylor, MONOPOLY Manager at the game’s maker Winning Moves UK, who are producing the board under license from Hasbro.

“But we are delighted to announce this set, the first and only one we will be announcing before the launch.”

Mr Taylor adds: “More than 22,000 landmarks, streets or roads could potentially have appeared on the board. Realistically around 220 were in the running so many congratulations to the 22 who made the final cut.”

Mr Taylor adds: “We would like to formally thank theWeymouthandPortlandpublic for all its votes. Without the public’s support this unique and official board could not have been produced.”
