Bridport Roads Closed for Gasworks!
9:39am 1st October 2012
Roadworks are likely to cause some travel disruption around Bridport today!
Southern Gas engineers are starting work to upgrade pipes around town and some roads are gonna be closed for up to 10 weeks.
South Street, Gundry Lane and the West East Street Junction are the main roads affected by the work.
The project's costing around 400 thousand pounds.
From 1 October for 10 days, Gundry Lane will be closed westward from its junction with South Street for a distance of approximately 15 metres. An alternative route will be signposted. Temporary traffic signals will be used to manage traffic.
From 15 October for seven weeks, South Street will be closed between its junction with Gundry Lane to its junction with West/East Street. An alternative route will be signposted. While this closure is in place, access for deliveries will be maintained to this section of South Street by arrangement with SGN.
For the duration of both closures, all on-street parking will be suspended between the two zebra crossings either side of the junctions to Gundry Lane and Folly Mill Lane.
