There's going to be a shakeup to parking charges in Weymouth and Portland.

Overnight and Sunday tariffs will be scrapped this winter and new ways to pay, including "by text" and when you exit are going to be trialled as well.

Councillors made the announcement at the Borough's Chamber of Commerce Meeting this week.

It's all in an effort to get more people into town and shopping which will boost the local economy.

Changes come into effect on November 1st.

All Borough Council car parks will be free on Sundays and overnight between 6pm and 8am. The changes apply to Council on street pay and display spaces too.

The trial period runs until the end of February next year.
