Dorset's Good For Tree Planting

Tree

9:40am 6th October 2012

Parts of Dorchester, Weymouth and Portland are the best for planting trees.

The UK's leading conservation charity has been mapping the country to find out which areas would be best suited for new woodlands.

The Woodland Trust says planting trees and hedges in our local area could improve water quality and habitats for wildlife.

Trees and woods can help protect water courses from harmful chemicals, pollutants, solids and fertilisers which damage biodiversity.

The charity is helping landowner's plant new native woodland and hedges, offering local people expert advice and funding support.
