Crime Prevention Show Hits The Road
11:54am 8th October 2012
Dorset Police take crime prevention on the road this week.
They're targeting Purbeck, where they'll be displaying a specially kitted out car and shed to promote security measures.
Members of the local Safer Neighbourhood Teams will also be on hand to security-mark bikes.
Steve Mackenzie, Chief Executive of Purbeck District Council, said "Purbeck is a very safe place and, thankfully, the level of crime here is very low. Nevertheless, there are still some people who think that the threat of crime is greater than it really is. We want to understand why people should feel afraid of crime when the level is so low and what influences their opinions.
"We hope that people will be able to pick up some useful tips at the road shows to make sure that crime figures remain low."
