Cold Caller

7:40am 15th October 2012

A roofer working in Dorchester has been fined and given a jail term for conning a pensioner.

William Birch of Whitegates Caravan Park in Bridgewater tried to charge an elderly man 4 and a half thousand pounds after initially quoting him just 99 pounds.

The 40 year old was sentenced to 3 months in prison, 150 hours unpaid work and handed a hefty fine.

Dorset's Trading Standards Officers advise us not to do business with cold callers.
