LISTEN: Dorchester Nurses Receive Special "End of Life" Training
10:07am 16th October 2012
A group of nurses are being specially trained to care for people who're coming to the end of their life at Dorset's County Hospital.
Called End of Life Champions, they're going to be learning how to help the patients and their families whilst offering the best advise care.
It's all part of a national strategy that aims to give patients more choice in their final days.
The Dorchester Hospital has teamed up with Weldmar Hospice to help train staff. Deputy Director of Nursing Tess Drabble told Wessex Fm they were an obvious choice because of their experience in end of life care. Click below to hear more from Tess.
Tess explains more about the role of an End of Life Champion.
