Residents Warned to Brace for More Potential Flooding Around Weymouth and Bridport

Flood

9:47am 17th October 2012
(Updated 11:15am 17th October 2012)

Some residents have had to be evacuated from their homes after flooding around Weymouth Harbour and Bridport.

The area around the esplanade has taken on large amounts of water after high tides this morning.

A road in West Bay was closed-off this morning (17th October 2012) and some people had to be moved out from their homes to wait for flood water to recede.

Members of the Environment Agency are at the scene assessing the situation.

Bridport Police have told Wessex FM they expect the area to improve soon as the tides to go out, but they're saying we should prepare for more potential flooding tomorrow.
