Decision on Future of Beaminster Tunnel Due
7:45am 18th October 2012
We'll be told at a public meeting tonight whether there's a chance of re-opening the Beaminster Tunnel.
So far , engineers have dug five boreholes up to 25 metres deep into the hillside there.
One avenue being investigated is the possibility of a temporary shield being put in place to open the road in the short term.
It's been closed since the landslip in July in which two people died.
Diversions have been in place ever since on the A3066, the main route from Beaminster to Crewkerne.
The meeting is being held in Beaminster's Public Hall and starts at 6.30pm.
