Dorchester Street Traders Escape the Axe
1:46pm 22nd October 2012
Market traders on South Street and Cornhill in Dorchester have been saved .... For now anyway!
It was feared Officials would stop people trading on the streets by 2014, but the Town's Market Panel says specialist stalls and farmers markets will remain for the foreseeable future.
Leaders met to discuss their options at a closed meeting last week (October 17th) and a decision has only just been announced by the Town Council.
Panel Bosses say they'll consult with the Dorchester BID on ways to make improvements.
They'll be drawing up a long term vision for South Street, whilst continuing to work with Cornhill traders to improve the vitality and appearance of the Market there.
