Dorchester Shops Asked to Open their Toilets to the Public
7:13am 23rd October 2012
Do you run a business Dorchester Town Centre? If so how do you fancy opening up your toilets to the public?
That's the latest idea from West Dorset District Council who is trying to make up for the shortfall of loos around town.
They demolished a load of public toilets on Charles Street to make room for their new offices.
If the scheme goes ahead the Council will make £10,000 available for local shops to upgrade their toilet facilities. Those shops who sign-up will be awarded £2,000 and have to sign up to the scheme for 2 years.
West Dorset District Council are now looking for easy to access locations across the town centre's main pedestrian routes.
Leaders hopes the scheme will be up and running by February 2013.
If you're a local business and want to find out more you're encouraged to contact Phil Gordon at the Dorchester BID by email at email@example.com by November 16th.
