Weymouth Students Determined to Visit New York Despite Devastation
7:40am 31st October 2012
A group of Weymouth School Children and their teachers are among hundreds of Brits stranded in New York after hurricane Sandy.
At least 50 people are now thought to have died and millions are without power.
The party from All Saints Church of England School – Wyke Regis - have hunkered down in a Boston Hotel for a second night as the storm passes.
They're supposed to be on a field trip to the Big Apple.
The travelling group have posted updates to the Schools website. The most recent was published last night at 8:15pm (our time) confirming all are in good spirits and making the most of their stop-off in one of the oldest cities in the US.
"We are staying in Boston for a further night. Hoping still to be able to visit New York later in the week when things are easier. Today we have taken a ride through the beauty of the New England colours to a "massive" American Outlet village along route 95"
