Thieves Ransack Bridport Jewellers

A Bridport jeweller’s been left extremely distressed after a raid by thieves.
Police have just released details of the incident that happened at a premises on Burton Road at 1.40pm on Friday afternoon.
The thieves got in by forcing open a utility room window.
Gold coloured chains, bracelets and a watch was taken.
Police want to speak to two men seen in the area at the time – they were in their 20’s to early 30’s of medium height and stocky build, wearing dark clothing.
Police Constable Neil Gauden, of Bridport police, said: “A utility room window was forced open.
“An untidy search was made and a quantity of jewellery was stolen. Most of the jewellery missing is gold coloured and includes chains, bracelets and a watch.
“I am keen to speak to two men who were seen in the vicinity of the property at the time of the offence which may be able to help me with my investigation.”
PC Gaudin continued: “This crime took place in the middle of the day so someone may have seen something suspicious. I am appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to call Dorset Police urgently on 101.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who has been approached to buy jewellery that they suspect may be stolen.
“This incident was extremely distressing for the victim however I would like to reassure the public that this type of incident is rare in Bridport.”
