People in Weymouth were surprised to see a Condor Ferry in the harbour yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 7th October 2012).
One of the iconic vessels was docked there for repair and maintenance works.
And you'll be seeing more of them over the coming months too as the Condor fleet sail in and out of Weymouth all winter for engineers to work on.
It's all part of a rolling programme of refits to their vessels.
Condor Ferries issued Wessex FM with the following statement from their Captain Fran Collins, Operations Director.
"This week sees the start of a rolling programme of refits to Condor Ferries vessels in Weymouth.
Over the winter months, the fast ferries Condor Express, Condor Rapide and Condor Vitesse will undergo a series of scheduled annual maintenance and repair work, carried out by a team of highly skilled engineers from Condor Ferries.
Once the initial work is completed in Weymouth, each ferry will then travel to dry dock in either Falmouth or Portsmouth for essential work including re-painting, before returning to Weymouth to complete the refit."
