Wessex FM has learnt that talks are taking place about the possibility of making part of Weymouth Esplanade car free during the summer.
The Council says it would be for a short period of time but no proposals are in place yet.
Borough Head of Operations Simon Williams said they had incredible feedback from people during the games: "They were saying it was fantastic, great for kids and families. It allowed people to sit out and really enjoy the seafront".
But what kind of an affect could the idea have on local trade?
We spoke to these local Bed and Breakfast on the seafront, who had mixed views about the idea.
You've been having your say on this story too, on our Facebook page.
Jenny Spicer say's it's a fab idea "it was lovely being able to stroll freely with pushchair". Clairemarie Saunders agrees "it was much better and their kids were safe"
Not everyone likes the idea though, Jenny Hayes says it "won't be good for business" and Tammy Trot commented "Rubbish idea it was a nightmare during the Olympics!".
