Sound Proofing Work on Weymouth Relief Road
8:26am 16th November 2012
Work to keep noise from the Weymouth relief road down to a minimum gets underway next week (Thursday 22nd Nov)
Fabric used on the sound barriers along the stretch is wearing down so they're going to be replaced.
Work will take 3 weeks to complete and it means some temporary lights on Littlemoor road in December.
The work won't cost the Borough Council a penny, the panels are still under warranty - see below for details.
On Thursday 22 November, for one week, the affected panels on Littlemoor Road, at the corners of Littlemoor Road Bridge, will have the fabric in them replaced. Pedestrians will be directed around the works.
Work will continue on Monday 3 December, for three weeks, to replace fabric in the faulty fences in the Littlemoor gap. There will be two-way traffic signals from 9.30am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday.
