Your Views Needed On New Charges For Developers
9:18am 20th November 2012
Your views are needed before the formation of a new Community Infrastructure Levy in South Dorset.
It relates to charging developers who want to make new buildings in our area.
The Levy is a new idea that allows our local councils to choose how much they charge people who want to build on local land.
That money then goes toward improving things like roads, schools, hospitals and parks that are close to developments - the idea is to help support local areas affected by building work.
Now, West Dorset District Council and Weymouth and Portland Borough want to know what residents and businesses think about the proposals before the draft Levy is signed-off.
Consultation on the Draft Charging Schedule is from 22 November 2012 to 20 December 2012.
You can view proposals at the Council Offices or at your local Library.
The charging schedule and other information about the Community Infrastructure Levy can be viewed online at http://www.dorsetforyou.com/communityinfrastructurelevy/west/weymouth.
Copies of the draft schedule are available for inspection at the above Offices between 8.30am and 5pm Monday to Thursday or 8.30 to 4.30 Fridays, and also at local libraries.
