Prince Charles visits Dorset County Hospital for the first time since 1987.
The Prince of Wales flew arrived on time by chopper despite the treacherous weather conditions sweeping the county.
Upon his arrival, dozens of staff members and patients lined the corridors to welcome him.
His Royal Highness made his way around the North Wing stopping on every corner to chat and share a joke with the people who'd waited patiently to meet him.
Wessex FM's Luke de Costa was there and commented "as far as Royal visits go this one is probably one of the more memorable ones in Dorset. What is usually a quick dash and short meet and greet was transformed into a casual stroll around the hospital filled with echoes of laughter throughout".
Before making his way off to Poundbury to plant an Oak tree to commemorate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, the Prince of Wales officially opened the new Fortuneswell ward, specially designed to treat cancer patients.
