Dorset Young Politicians Speak At Westminster

Oliver Letwin MP

12:06pm 26th November 2012

Young aspiring politicians from Dorset have been making their voices heard over at Westminster.

3 of our local students joined over 300 elected members of the Youth Parliament in the House of Commons on Friday (23rd November).

5 issues were debated including Marriage for All, Getting Read for Work, An Equal National Minimum Wage for All, and Cheaper Transport.

All members voted for the most important issue to lead their 2013 campaign.

Deputy Member of Youth Parliament 16 year old Lloyd Hatton goes to the Thomas Hardye School, he told Wessex FM it was a great opportunity to discuss issues that really matter to people; "A quarter of a million people voted to decide what we were going to debate on, it just shows people are interested in politics and they're are engaged".
