Portland's volunteer coastwatch team have made Princess Anne and her husband Honorary Watchkeepers.
But HRH Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence says before they join the National Coatchwatch team at Portland Bill they might need to undergo some training.
Its been a royal year for the team, who were presented with the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service - the equivalent to an MBE by Princess Anne.
Station Manager, Geoff Peters, said: "To receive this honour is more than we could ever have dreamed of, our dedicated team at Portland carry their watches relentlessly in all winds and weather, never knowing what can occur during their watch. To have this endorsement on top of being presented with the Queen's Award really is the icing on the cake."
He added: "The team all want to know which of the three, four hour daily watches HRH & Sir Tim will be completing."
