Oil Tanker Rescue in Weymouth Bay

2 injured crewmen on an oil tanker have been airlifted to Dorchester Hospital.

Portland's Coastguard Helicopter rescued the pair from the 102 metre long vessel that was anchored in Weymouth bay this lunchtime (Wednesday 5th December).

One suffered head injuries.

Both were injured when they were hit by a swinging boom on-board.

They're are being kept in Hospital overnight for observation.

A Coastguard spokesman told Wessex FM they're injuries aren't as serious as initially thought.
