Crime Levels Continue To Fall In Dorset

Knife crime - hand holding knife

Crime levels continue to fall in Dorset - according to the latest figures.

Non domestic assault with injury has fallen further with 198 fewer offences between April and September compared to the same time last year.

Serious crime like burglary, theft of and from vehicles and robbery continues to remain positive with 188 fewer offences over the same time scale.

Dorset's Community Safety Partnership say access to support for victims of domestic violence has improved too.

The Home Office estimates the reductions save just under 2 million for this financial year.

While a number of factors are likely to have contributed to these reductions, it's believed that neighbourhood policing and increased community work by partner agencies have had a positive impact.
