3 - 8 Day Parking Permits Could Be Scrapped
3:25pm 11th December 2012
Three to eight day parking permits for car parks run by West Dorset District Council are stopping them from providing more discounts.
That's what the Executive Committee will hear this afternoon in a report which recommends they're withdrawn.
It also suggests that parking charges in West Dorset are frozen for a further 12 months.
West Dorset District Council Parking Manager Chris Graves said:
"The district council has a good track record in recent years of supporting West Dorset town centres by freezing already low parking charges to encourage greater use of short stay spaces.
"The report going to the council's Executive Committee is recommending that we consult with town councils and local business about the freeze and get their views about the 3 -8 day permit."
